Guaranteed Tuition Certificates (GTCs)

Certificates were issued in red (as shown) or blue / actual size 8" by 12"

In the late 1980s Indiana University began offering reduced fee rates through the sale of Guaranteed Tuition Certificates. Through this program, it was possible for individuals to purchase blocks of credit hours at the then effect fee rates. The certificates continue to be accepted as full value payment toward the current credit hour rates.

Although the GTC program has now been terminated, the University will continue accepting certificates until they have been consumed or expire.

Redeeming Your Certificates
To redeem your certificate value and have that amount applied to your IUPUI fees, mail your certificates to:
IUPUI Bursar Office,  Guaranteed Tuition Certificates, P.O. Box 6020,  Indianapolis IN 46206-6020
(Include a copy of the Student Bill to ensure proper application, and your name and contact information.  You will be contacted preferably by telephone when your certificate is received.  Only original certificates can be processes, no copies please.)

Selling Certificates on the Secondary Market
Remaining certificates, which are in the hands of former investors, occasionally are sold by those investors to others who might use them. Perhaps this has occurred because a parent or grandparent who made a certificate purchase as an investment toward the future education for a child or grandchild, finds that circumstances have changed, and they no longer need those certificates. Because each certificate has a termination date, usually 20 years after issue, these sellers are interested in locating buyers. The seller determines the price at which they wish to sell their certificates. Depending on the negotiations between the buyer and the seller, the transaction can be beneficial to both parties.  You can take advantage of the secondary GTC market by contacting the University.  Although we do not participate in the sale, we do play an active role in connecting buyers with sellers.

If you are interested saving toward your future enrollment cost, call 1-812-855-4636. We will add your name to a list of interested buyers. This listing will be made available to prospective sellers who may contact you directly.
